Srabanti started her career in Indian Bangla Movie Industry with the movie Mayar Badhon in 1997. But, that was a side role. The main heroine of that movie was Rituparna Sengupta. She got the leading role as a heroine in her second movie Champion in 2003. After that, she married Rajib Biswas, an Assistant Director of some Hindi Movies. This couple has a son also. After a break of 5 years, Srabanti came back to media in 2008 with the movie Bhalobasha Bhalobasha. Since then, she acted in about 20 movies like Dujone, Wanted, Amanush, Josh, Sedin Dekha Hoyechilo, Fighter, Faande Poriya Boga Kaande Re, Idiot, Deewana, Kanamachi, Goynar Baksho, Majnu, Bindaas and Buno Haansh. Her upcoming movies are Amar Tumi, Kathmandu, Nabajibon Bima Company etc.
She also acted in some telefilms like Chhadmabeshi, Shortcut Prem, Golper Nayika etc.
