Is Your Job Making You Overweight?
Is Your Job Making You Overweight?
In this current era of advanced technological development for most high official executives fingers are the only body part that moves & brain is that only part that works out. At present 24/7 our life runs speedily with time to meet the deadlines & requirements of corporate world. Most of us expend further than one –third of our life with the official clock & this corporate behavior has huge impact on both our health & weight. These long hours of pressure & stress give majority people some extra pounds of weight. In a survey carried by CareerBuilder its found 44% employees said in current job they gained weight & 1/4 gained more than 10 pounds! Some careful smart tips can help you avoid gaining unwanted weight
For lunch bring food from home rather than going to official cafeteria or restaurant. Outside food not only increase your weight but rather interrupt your weight loss efforts.
In a research journal published by The Academy Of Nutrition & Dietetics it’s seen that women who regularly ate lunch out lost much less than them who didn’t & even who ate out only once per week lost about five fewer pounds compared to them who haven’t .If you are too busy, you can make it along with your dinner & reserve some for next day’s lunch. Healthy & light homemade food is best as office lunch for losing weight. Even if you have to go out for lunch with clients or any other reason you can choose among their healthiest option with lower calories.
It is quite normal for many of you to spend hours in car, bus or train for going as well as coming back from office. This makes you bad-tempered, stressed and tired motivating to eat more food for getting comfort. To get rid of these a very helpful tool is work out as we all know exercises are best stress-fighter. The problem is spending long hours on the way not only makes you stressed but also steals the precious free time from everyday life when someone will do exercise.
So, we have to reach at a solution which will be helpful but also realistic. If you are using public transport while going to office & coming back home you can get down a stop earlier & walk for ten minutes both the way. If you drive you can park the car at a 10-15 minutes distance from your office and reach & come back with a walk. When the weather is pleasant you can even come back from office walking while enjoying some music.
At office you can use stairs instead of elevator & for bringing or transferring any documents you can do that physically which will keep you active & mobile. During lunch you can go to lunch room by walking rather than having it on your desk. It will bring a change as well as keep you walking. Since most people need to carry on overtime this stress makes you eat just before you sleep which is not recommended by doctor & also gives you very less of sleeping hours. During week end you should take proper rest & sleep because it has been found that people who gets much less sleep desires more to have rich junk food.
At your office you can carry some fresh fruits, vegetables, salad or any other healthy food which you can have when you are hungry so that you don’t need to depend on unhealthy alternatives for snack.
Sitting the full day at office not only makes you overweight but also results cardiovascular disease, diabetes & early death.
Sometimes you can exchange work with some co-workers whose duties are not of sitting. Also while having a telephone conversation or reading any documents you can stand or walk around.
Surely your corporate life has much importance but do not forget corporate life is only a certain part of your life, above all other part what you have to love most is your life. When you are healthy you are not only happy but also much more productive & efficient. So your foremost importance & care should be for your life, your health.
